Setup and how to play
The Hanging Bat Puzzle
A 21-piece hanging bat puzzle, about 12 by 8 inches, that you build on a stand instead of flat on a table. Here's how to set it up and play it solo, head to head or as a team.
What's in the box
- 21 double-sided wooden bat pieces
- Hanging stand (with the stand option)
- Canvas bag to hold the pieces
Setup
-
Stand it up
If you have the stand, set it up on a flat table so the hook at the top is free. Without the stand, the bat builds flat on the table like a jigsaw.
-
Lay out the pieces
Empty the canvas bag in front of the stand and spread the pieces out so none overlap.
-
Mix them up
Scramble the pieces before every round so nobody gets a head start. Every piece is printed on both sides, so either face can go up.
How to play
Solo against the clock
Start a timer, build the whole bat, and stop the clock when the last piece is in. Write your time down and try to beat it next round.
Head to head
With two puzzles on two stands, count down from three and race. First bat hanging complete wins, just like a final immunity puzzle.
Party or team relay
Make it the last station of your own obstacle course: teams run the course, and the first team to finish the bat wins immunity.

Where this challenge comes from
This is a replica of the hanging bat puzzle that finished the final immunity obstacle course on Survivor 47 (Episode 14). The same bat finish was also used on Survivor 33 and Survivor 43. Ours is a tabletop size so you can play it at home.
