Setup and how to play
The Manta Ray Puzzle
A 40-piece manta ray puzzle, about 10 by 10 inches. Here's how to set it up and play it solo, head to head or as a team.
What's in the box
- 40 wood-core pieces with stickers
- Hand-finished, stained birch wood base
- Muslin bag to hold the pieces
Setup
-
Lay out the pieces
Empty the muslin bag on a flat table and spread the pieces out so none overlap.
-
Set out the base
Put the birch base flat on the table in front of you. The manta ray builds on top of it.
-
Mix them up
Scramble the pieces before every round so nobody gets a head start.
How to play
Solo against the clock
Start a timer, build the whole manta ray, and stop the clock when the last piece is in. Write your time down and try to beat it next round.
Head to head
With two puzzles, set them side by side, count down from three and race. First complete manta ray wins.
Party or team relay
Hide the pieces around the yard and have teams find them first, then race to finish the manta ray. First team done wins the reward.
