Setup and how to play
Pairs and Lock
A 23-piece matching puzzle with a real combination lock: find the pairs, and the pieces left over lead you to the 3-digit code. Here's how to set it up and play.
What's in the box
- 23 double-sided acrylic pieces, 1 1/4 inches square
- 3-digit combination lock
- Muslin bag to keep the pieces in
Setup
-
Lock it up
Close the combination lock and spin the dials so nobody starts on the code.
-
Lay out the pieces
Empty the bag on a flat table and spread all 23 pieces out so none overlap.
-
Mix them up
Shuffle the pieces and flip some over before every round so nobody gets a head start.
How to play
Solo against the clock
Start a timer and stop it when the lock pops open. Write your time down and try to beat it next round.
Head to head
With two puzzles, set them side by side, count down from three and race. First lock open wins.
Party or team relay
Make it the last stop of a backyard course, after a paddle or snake challenge. First team to open the lock wins immunity.
